An AppleScript to create a Virex7 GUI

Waitsec... they have an easily repeatable crashing bug for their GUI in OS 10.2 and they won't give out the fix to anybody except their Prime Support Customers? That's just stupid!

Oh, and I still don't see the need to install virus protection software (unless you know you have a virus already). Viruses for the mac are so uncommon (I've never seen one and I've been using macs all my life - I'm 18, BTW) that virus protection software tends to just cause more problems than it fixes (i.e. in scanning stuff for viruses, sucking up CPU time, etc)

You're right, it is stupid! And on their website it's almost impossible to find the support area. And on top of that in order to download any updates you need some kind of a "grant number", which I don't have because I got Virex with MacLinkPlus.

Oh, and it crashes for me quite nicely on the Unix command line also.

The handy thing about anti-virus software on the Mac is that Virex at least will find Windoze viruses, which is nice so you don't pass them on (which I think someone else mentioned). The version of Norton I have doesn't do this.
