Installing OS 10.2 on Beige G3

There's no way around this problem, except with either a
3rd party IDE controller or a soldering iron.

The issue is with the IDE controller used in the Beige G3,
and even the WallStreet model PowerBooks.

I'm afraid you're wrong. I'm currently running os-x 10.2.6 on
my wallstreet (233mhz), and the installer ran with no hacking
what so ever.

Installing OS 10.2 on Beige G3

I just got a G3 AIO 266. I would like to put the hard drive that was in my iMac (I just put a 20 gig drive in it) in the AIO. It is a 10 GB Maxtor 5400RPM ATA 66 drive. I got a Promise Technology ATA 66 card for it. What will I need to do to boot from that card. Also if at all possible I would like to boot from the existing system on the drive so that I don't have to reload everything. Is this doable? I am supposed to get the AIO via UPS tomorrow.

OK so I partitioned and installedon a 100gig HD but now my OS X partition is filling up and I have 80+ gig on the other partition. G3 266/400+ ram. I am handy with a soldering iron but would rather upgrade the SCSI controller. Any suggestions?
