Installing OS 10.2 on Beige G3

I have 10 Beige G3 @ 266 or 300 mhz. All upgraded to 512 or
768 mb of ram and 20GB Harddrives. All are running OS 10.2.6
just fine! No OS 9 cd, no classic.

The Readme file states that on beige G3, Original iMacs, and
certain Powerbook G3's that you must install the OS on the 1st
partition less than 8GB. I set mine at 7.92GB.

So just boot off of the OS X installer CD, Launch DiskUtility
from the memubar, partition your drive, reboot off of the CD,
and install as normal. Runs Great! (for an old machine!)

When you say runs great (for an old machine) just how well is that and what all do you do? I just got an AIO on eBay and it hasn't gotten here yet but I am wondering if it will handle OS X very well or if I should just leave 9 on it for now. Also, how much RAM is needed to run it decently. I know 128 is the minimum but I would think that at least 256 would be what I should go for.
