I have sharing on and nmap says that port is open, but iTunes pops up a dialog that the server is not found or not responding? My firewall is off.

Well actually you can connect to your own share... just put in the external ip address. If you have a LAN of some sort you may have other issues... port forwarding, router/firewall.

I tried daap://localhost and daap://127.0.0.1 but no luck, probably something to do with netinfo and lookups. However as I said, I was definitely able to use my external IP to connect to my own share. No I will not post it here ;-p
