Great tip!

I've always found these 'autocomplete' things to be designed to annoy you, actually filling in a complete item instead of showing a list of available choices from what you've already type without actually filling it in (what if that's not what you wanted?)

Then just get used to tapping the delete button before hitting return to trim the auto-fill. If you just keep typing things, it gradually goes away. It's just a minor retraining of your typing in the location box. Killing this keeps you from being able to start deep in a web site without remembering long URLs. Any fill box (even those in forms on pages) has a dropdown with the historical selections to choose from if you want. Seems like a huge loss of functionality for a small gain to me... to each their own I guess :)

Actually, I find using foward delete ( shift+delete ) handles this issue nicely. A drop down menu with options would be a nice tweak, however.
