A caution on reinstalling Jaguar on a 12" PowerBook
Authored by: diamondsw on Apr 28, '03 10:33:14AM

This probably has to do with the new speed bumped iBook. I installed Jaguar last weekend on my Nov. 2002 iBook and it worked fine. Used the CD's that shipped with the machine.

Also, the tip should refer to the iBook, not the Powerbook (as it probably does not have this problem).

First - he got a new iBook already? My order has been on hold for 10 days at the Apple Store.

Secondly, can we verify whether this was a newer iBook or the older 700-800 Mhz one? What are the exact specifications?

If it is a newer one, and mine suffers the same problems (when it arrives), I better get an iPod out of the deal... ;)

I had a ten day delay with my initial order for an 800Mhz iBook, Apple then cancelled it and upgraded my order to the new 900 Mhz and delayed it 10 days again. My guess is I will get it in July sometime.

This is not JUST the newer iBooks, but it will not effect the old modles (the blue and orange), It also happens with the 9 install disks, u MUST use the ones shipped with your iBook unless (like this case) apple stuffed up and sent the wrong cd's
