Fixing broken FTP in Safari Beta 2
Authored by: Spartacus on Apr 23, '03 10:31:07AM

How do I make Safari browse FTP folders instead of opening them in the Finder? Or, if it's not possible, how do I tell it to launch another aplication instead?

Safari's FTP proxy broken

While we're talking problems with Safari, note that I've found
Safari doesn't honor both the host AND the port of proxies. So
https: links will be redirected to the specified proxy, but will still
go to the https port and not the port you set.

This makes https links in Safari unusable from work for me. I
use Camino instead, which does honor both host and port proxy
settings.

Safari's FTP proxy broken

I have the exact same problem but extended to the FTP proxy as well. Passive mode, not passive, Safari just refuses to work while every other browser (IE, Mozilla, Camino) deals with it just fine.
