Echo non-standard video through FireWire to TV
Authored by: dj_feare on Apr 18, '03 02:02:34PM

I have tried this with 2 different Macs, 2 different monitors,
3 different video clips, in both OS 9 and X, with a Formac
Studio (original model). Black screen or white/pink flashing
screen on TV in every case.

Anyone else having success with the original Studio?

I was ecstatic when I read this hint, since I've been wanting to do EXACTLY this (with trailers and the like) for a long time.

Unfortunately, I'm not having luck with a Sony converter box (or DV camera), either. If I playthrough a DV clip, it works perfectly. If I playthrough anything else (at least that I've tried so far: MP4, MPEG, Sorenson), I get a black screne with sound.

Maybe there's something I'm missing, or maybe Sony is just picky about the video format it receives.

Did you make sure to turn Echo Port Off? If so, fiddle with the other
settings and report back with your results. -- E

I also have the Formac Studio: You just have to push the Reset
button on your formac to change the pink screen into the wanted
output movie.

I dont know with you guys but I think the quality sucks really much. Can I change his or not, and what about the size, can I resize it?
