Solution: Download Instead of SWUpdate
Authored by: nicksay on Apr 15, '03 02:24:04PM

On a hunch that Apple might be serving up different versions, I
downloaded Beta 2 from Apple's page (http://
www.apple.com/safari/download), opened the disk
image, and replaced my copy of Safari with the
new one. Voila! Cmd-Shift-[arrow] tab switching
works and the Window menu has the correct
commands. I had used Software Update to get the
new Beta, but it seems that the SWUpdate version
isn't quite right (though both were listed as v73).
So, if you're having the problem I had, try a direct
download.

I don't buy this. Here's why. I downloaded mine via SWUpdate
within 10 minutes of it being posted.

Mine works fine. <shrug>

Who knows.

Same here. I downloaded the Beta 2 from SW Update within
minutes of it appearing there, and I can switch easily with the
said keyboard shortcuts, so it must be some other problem
users are seeing here.
