Switching tabs via the keyboard in Safari Beta 2
Authored by: nicksay on Apr 15, '03 10:24:57AM

Hmmm. I have neither the Window Menu nor the Keyboard
Shortcut version of tab-switching... Anyone else
seeing the same thing?

Switching tabs via the keyboard in Safari Beta 2

Same for me -- command-shift-leftarrow and command-shift-
rightarrow don't switch tabs for me -- rather they work like the
next and previous buttons.

Switching tabs via the keyboard in Safari Beta 2

You probably have not turned on the tab feature. It's in
Preferences. Select the Tabs icon and check the box labeled
"Enable Tabbed Browsing."

Switching tabs via the keyboard in Safari Beta 2

There wouldn't be any tabs for him to not be able to switch between if tabs weren't enabled. It sounds like there's some other problem here.

Solution: Download Instead of SWUpdate
Authored by: nicksay on Apr 15, '03 02:24:04PM

On a hunch that Apple might be serving up different versions, I
downloaded Beta 2 from Apple's page (http://
www.apple.com/safari/download), opened the disk
image, and replaced my copy of Safari with the
new one. Voila! Cmd-Shift-[arrow] tab switching
works and the Window menu has the correct
commands. I had used Software Update to get the
new Beta, but it seems that the SWUpdate version
isn't quite right (though both were listed as v73).
So, if you're having the problem I had, try a direct
download.

I don't buy this. Here's why. I downloaded mine via SWUpdate
within 10 minutes of it being posted.

Mine works fine. <shrug>

Who knows.

Same here. I downloaded the Beta 2 from SW Update within
minutes of it appearing there, and I can switch easily with the
said keyboard shortcuts, so it must be some other problem
users are seeing here.
