Create a customized bootable CD
Authored by: theanthrope on Apr 12, '03 11:05:01AM

I'm trying to create a bootable CD but BootCD doesnt' seem to be working. It asks me what to name the disk image and where to save it then I just get a "Please Wait, Creating disk image..." box with the barber pole progress bar that doesn't stop. I'm pretty sure I'm following the instructions properly.

Create a customized bootable CD

I had the same problem. I just bought and downloaded DiskWarrior 3.0 and thought I would make a temporary bootable CD to supplement while the ordered one won't be here for two or three weeks. BootCD seemed to be the logical choice but it doesn't seem to be working for me with the same barber poll forever and no questions asked, just attempting to create the image right from the get go. I guess BootCD wasn't updated for the latest OS, 10.2.6.

Can't we just create a disk image with disk copy that will contain everything we need and be bootable?

Ooops! My bad. I just found that the author has updated BootCD to version 0.5.3 from 0.3 and it should now work as advertised. The reason I didn't find this out at first was because MacFixIt download library hasn't been updated with this latest version and that's where the discussion on BootCD had led me.
