USB hubs and devices can cause installation issues
Authored by: ddldreaming on Apr 03, '03 11:23:51PM
I've had a Belkin BusSwitch 7-port USB for several years and have been generally happy with it, but sometimes I have problems that can only be solved by shutting down the Mac and unplugging the hub from its AC power source for a moment. The most common symptom which leads me to do this is my EyeTV ceasing to work through it. Luckily this is quite rare: once every six months or so.

I also have a MacAlly iMediaKey keyboard which prevents deep sleep on my G4/AGP (I didn't discover this for years, until after I removed a SCSI card that also prevented deep sleep). I ended up buying an Apple Pro Keyboard and now she sleeps happily.
