Avoid '-36 errors' when connecting to Win2K servers
Authored by: beedee on Apr 03, '03 10:46:31PM

Worked like a charm for me. Up until now I could access everything on my Mac from the PC, read/write/delete/etc, but could not mount my PC shares from the PC.

Thanks a mil!

Avoid '-36 errors' when connecting to WinXP servers
Authored by: mikegarcia2000 on Apr 17, '03 07:35:18PM

I get the -36 error when connecting to my WinXP machine. It's really weird because SMB worked last week and doesn't work this week. It works on some of my coworkers machines but not all. I did turn on the Network DDE services but that didn't fix it. It almost seems to me like it's a server issue. Perhaps our IT department did something to our DNS server.

I have no idea how to correct this and it's really annoying.

:(
-Mike

Account problem caused mu -36

I tried all the tricks in the tips here and still got -36 error.

However, after finding a hint at /. site (see link below) I
checked the account I used for connecting via SMB and found out
that the password had expired. Resetting the password fixed it
for me!
