Anyone use spamassassin and DNS black lists together? Or is one better than the other? trying to figure out which would be best.

SpamAssassin can be configured to do RBL tests, and add those to its overall spamminess score for a message. This is probably better than just using sendmail with RBL blocks set up, since it will be an input to a rating, instead of a hard bounce.

My own experience with RBLs is that if you use them to just bounce messages, you lose important mail. I won't be enabling them by themselves ever again!

Ditto. RBL was a good option before Bayesian filtering became so ubiquitous (and good) -- now all I use is the latter.

PS - Did you ever use BeOS? Your name sounds really familiar...
