Using a PC-only hardware MP3 player with iTunes
Authored by: robarmo on Feb 21, '03 07:23:43PM

I`ve also had a problem with my MP3's not working with a PC due to
illegal characters in the file names. So far I`ve found the following
characters to be responsible ? * / \ " < > |
Does this list appear to be
correct? Are there any other characters I should avoid using?

Thanks.

The easy way to find out is to try typing an illegal filename on a Windows machine. It helpfully informs you that:

A filename cannot contain any of the following characters:
\ / : * ? " < > |
