Add iMovie Sound Effects in the Home folder
A more convenient place to add sound effects is in the Home folder under Library -> iMovie -> Sound Effects. (You may have to create the folder if it doesn't exist yet.)
Add iMovie Sound Effects in the Home folder
This method doesn't seem to work the way I described the hint: The new sounds installed into the home folder WILL not display in the iM3 Audio panel.
Add iMovie Sound Effects in the Home folder
Interesting...I've got iMovie 3.0.1 setup just like I described, and in the audio panel under "iMovie Sound Effects", I get a major heading (like "Skywalker Sound Effects" and "Standard Sound Effects") for each folder in Users -> MyName -> Library -> iMovie -> Sound Effects. Each mp3 and AIFF is listed underneath its folder name.
