Use a card reader

You could also use a USB/Firewire card reader or even an PCMCIA adapter with your flash memory. Dead useful for transfering files between my brother's Windoze XP laptop and my Powerbook G3, especially if you have a 1GB Microdrive =P

Use a card reader

I agree,
I`ve got a Siemens SL45 mobile phone, which uses a MultiMedia Card for storage.
The software and sync cradle was PC only (it uses a nasty "custom" serial to ethernet cable-with serial transfer speeds!)
Anyway-since I bought a USB MMC reader, I can remove the card from the phone and mount it on both Macs & PCs. I can use it to transfer MP3s and .bmp screen logos, but there is a "Misc" folder specifically intended for transporting files between computers.
I've always got my phone with me, and so have always got my files (as long as I remember to bring the reader).

That's even less to carry around than a camera!

The only problem? .DS_store and .Trashes files on my phone.
