It Worked!!!!
I bought a Asus V7100 GF2 MX400 64Mb PRO PURE AGP, I installed it in my G4 Dual 500. I tried to flash the ROM, nothing happened, no black screen, Apple system profiler gave me ROM version 1028f, and the card only worked in OS 9, one resolution and 256 colors...
So I downloaded all the nVidia drivers and installed them in the OS 9 extensions folder and in the OS X library (not sure it's necessary for OS X). Then I flashed the ROM with this simple modified apple script : (you need the AENV MacFlash [1045-MRS] application) tell application "AENV MacFlash [1045-MRS]" FlashROM end tell Bingo!! The screen turned black!!! I rebooted my G4 and I now have the 1045 ROM version in my system profiler. The card works perfectly in OS 9.2 and OS X Jaguar, no bug at all!!! Thank you!! I saved 200$
It Worked!!!!
ok cool
It Worked!!!!
Are you trying to reboot in OS 9.2? You have to flash the card before rebooting in OS X.
It Worked!!!!
well this is what i do. i DL the flash kit with right rom etc. Then i put the Nvidia extensions in os 9 system and want to reboot in os 9 to flash the card. But my system wont startup, all i get is the grey screen. Am i doing something wrong ?. I guess that u can only flash the card if the nvidia drivers are in extensions folder ?.
It Worked!!!!
How many graphic card do you have in your computer? If you have a card installed in one of the pci slot, remove it.
It Worked!!!!
hey
It Worked!!!!
hummm...
It Worked!!!!
well yes i can boot up in 9 " without nvidia extensions " in 256 resolution, but i get alot of flickering and lines on my screen, but guess its because the card isent flashed yet.
It Worked!!!!
OK,
Here's exactly what I did:
I first downloaded the files. Then I run the flash script, nothing happened, no black screen. So I downloaded the latest nVidia drivers (2.1.1) from Apple. I tried to updates the nVidia drivers but it didn't work, I got a message telling me that I can't install that on my computer. So I took the Tome document in the installer files folder (in the Geforce Graphics Update folder), and I expanded it with Tomeviewer, I took the expanded files and put them in the extension folder of the os 9 system folder, and I rebooted in OS 9.2.
Then I run the following script (with the apple script app.) :
tell application "AENV MacFlash [1045-MRS]"
FlashROM
end tell
Before running this script save it in the same location where you put the AENV MacFlash [1045-MRS] application. If everything's ok your screen should turn black for 10-15 seconds, you must reboot to see the 1045 ram in your system profiler. After that, you can reboot in OS X!!!
It Worked!!!!
ok thanx man, but the only problem i have here is that i can boot up with OLD gfx card and new Nvidia drivers. Then i shutdown take the old card out, put the new in and restart. BUT then my machine stops after happy mac and all i get is a greay screen ?. Do u know why ?.
It Worked!!!!
