Only Mail.app, though

Unfortunately, there is no "Services/Default Mailer/Send Selection" service. As it is, this only works with Mail.app, an app I pounded my head against all through OS X beta and 10.0, then finally gave up on. It would be nice if Apple, while offering us their own Mail.app, made the system-wide hooks more responsive to our own choices.

Each application provides its own Service.

I'm guessing that you want to pester MS to add some useful Services to Outlook, or something. (Good luck with that. :p )

I know that Carbon apps can finally use Services, can they also provide them?

Apple posted sample code when they seeded Jaguar that showed how to embed Cocoa-in-Carbon and Carbon-in-Cocoa, so it's likely possible. Admittedly, I haven't touched Carbon since I dumped OS 9, so I could be wrong :).

To note:
Using Mail is a very different experience in 10.2 over 10.1.
I can only imagine how much over 10.0 and the PB.
