ah, the 'password not recognized' bug

Rob, you have to reset and re-enter your password !

first enable the windows sharing and enable 'this user can connect from windows machines' for your account.

then go to prefs -> account and change your password to nomatterwhat. Save, and repeat but this time restore your password. Now the windoze machine will be able to see the passwd.

Worked for me.

If you have a Linux server you can easily use NFS and have a dynamically mounted Directory always available to you.

NFS made my Powerbook really unstable. Had to reboot it almost daily when sharing my iTunes library to my PB from my Linux Server via NFS.

Hey I just wanted to say that this tip worked for me!! I was unable to log into my G4 laptop from my Win2000 machine because of the 'password not recognized' problem. I changed my OS X password, then changed it back again and now it works fine!!
