brickhouse is just a GUI for built in firewall

I think the confusion arises because brickhouse is only a GUI for the inbuilt firewall of OS X. This has been there from the start but Jaguar added a front end to control it. This renders brickhouse unnecessary for beginners, though it has some options for advanced users that are not yet ready for the command line.

could you be so kind and tell me how to disable brickhouse? looks like unchecking it doesnt cut. I unchecked the firewall active box, apply and save config. but still when I try to change apples built in visual firewall, error says I have other firewall running.
thanks in advance.
