10.7: Exit TextEdit quickly without Save prompt
Authored by: RadicalxEdward on Sep 14, '13 10:05:31AM

I've found the easiest way to accomplish this without having to hit a bunch of keyboard shortcuts in a row (which isn't much better than just hitting don't save) is to utilize a *very* useful tool called "BetterTouchTool" which is a great free app that allows you to create custom gestures and keyboard shortcuts. From their site: http://www.boastr.de/

"BetterTouchTool is a great, feature packed FREE app that allows you to configure many gestures for your Magic Mouse, Macbook Trackpad and Magic Trackpad. It also allows you to configure actions for keyboard shortcuts, normal mice and the Apple Remote. In addition to this it has an iOS companion App (BTT Remote) which can also be configured to control your Mac the way you want."

I set up an app specific keyboard shortcut for "Option + Q" that triggers "Cmd + Q, then a .45 second delay, and then Cmd + del". It's the easiest, fastest and simplest solution I've found thus far. BTT is very straightforward IMO so anyone should be able to set it up without help. (Jeez I sound like an ad lol)

Hope this helps people.
