Replicate Roku 3's "Private Listening" feature on AppleTV

This works for me but does anyone know how to increase the volume beyond turning up the receiving idevice. Even at maximum volume I find the audio very quiet. I am using Airfloat on a jailbroken ipod touch, by the way.

I'm the original poster of this tip.

Try playing music on the AppleTV first, hold the select button, go down and select Speakers... and then choose your iPhone as audio output. On *that* screen, you can adjust the output. Dunno why you can't do the same from video output. But, from my limited testing, it appears to maintain that higher volume when you later switch over and start playing videos! Hopefully it works for ya.

Thanks for the tip, er, I mean...hint. That did it. I can now actually get the the volume slider with videos when I hit Select > Speakers > Airfloat while watching the video. I do find the sound is not always reliable, however. It does cut-out occassionally and it is sometimes hard to get going again. Still a neat hint though. Thanks.
