Force-change the default printer in a Pages '08 file
Authored by: Krioni on Jan 14, '13 04:54:00PM

This bug still exists.
Pages documents remember the printer they used before being saved for the first time. From then on, no matter what you do, the printer they show will be that old printer. They disregard whatever is set as the default printer in your System Preferences. In fact, you can open one of these Pages documents, choose to Print, pick the "new" printer that should have been selected because it is your current default printer, print, then decide you want to print another copy. Guess what? When you choose Print, the printer selected will NOT be the one you just printed to, but rather the old printer that the document is stubbornly clinging to. The only way to force the document to not select that printer is to delete or rename that printer, or open the Pages document on a computer where that printer doesn't exist.
