Create a QR code with your contact info
@robleach and @kirkmc - Thanks for posting this hint and mentioning qrstuff.com!
@RustyIron.com - Linking to a vcard landing page is completely optional and users can freely elect to embed their contact details directly into the QR code instead if they wish by selecting the "Embed VCARD data in QR code as-is" option below the data input area. This will give the user experience mentioned by @robleach and about 40% of the 350,000 monthly users of QRStuff.com elect to use this option when creating their vCard QR codes. I'd point out however that since a QR code is the graphical representation of the data it contains, linking to a landing page is the only way to make the QR code "dynamic" so that the contact details can be subsequently edited by the QR code owner, and this is an attractive feature for many users. This blog post explains static vs dynamic QR codes and how they work. @awado - Our privacy policy specifically states "If any of your personal information is required to be stored on our servers, it will not be rented, sold or intentionally released" and we mean it - your information is safe with us. We have no intention of using the information you give us in any other way or for any other purpose than to support the presentation of your QR code to anyoine who scans it. End of story. |
