Partition a Fusion drive

Saying you can only partition "the hard drive part" doesn't really make sense.

My understanding of the fusion drive is that you don't decide what is on the SSD nor do you access it directly. You use the drive and it (or maybe the OS) decides what to move on or off the SSD. From the file systems point of view the file is in the same place.

I would assume that if you partition the drive files from both partitions may end up on the SSD portion of the drive. If this isn't the case what you mean to say is that you can partition the hard drive but only one of the partitions work in concert with the SSD. I would be slightly surprised if this were the case but I could see it happening. (And if this is the case the tip should tell us how to specify which partition is the one that works with the SSD.)

I should have read the FAQ first.

It says that only the main partition works with the SSD. (So only one partition works with SSD and you don't get to choose).
