Listen to podcasts with Music app on iOS 6

There are a lot of valid criticisms* that can be made regarding the Podcasts app, but I think you're piling on a little here. Your particular criticism doesn't appear valid. The Podcasts app works just fine with the double-tap home button shortcut and the earbuds controls, and as far as I can remember, always has.

*The terrible track record it has correctly updating subscribed podcast listings is hard to put up with, but not yet a deal-breaker (for me at least). I have a lot of hope that Apple will continue to fix these problems, though I'll sign on with anyone complaining that they released this particular app way too soon and are taking much longer than is typical for Apple in bringing it up to snuff.

The double clicks work while in Podcasts. But if you use another program or don't listen to podcasts for a while, when you click on the headphone "clicker" you get the Music app, not the Podcast app.

I mostly listen to podcasts and before I would get my podcast (or music if that's what I had last listened too) back. Now I get music and have to find the Podcast app and relaunch it and usually I've lost my place and have to find the podcast I was listening too. The latter could happen before too, but now I think it's guaranteed. A step backwards for my use case.
