Menu item to change display modes in Mountain Lion

It's not just that Steve Jobs died. It's also that the guy who was Senior Vice President of Software Engineering since 1997 retired in 2011 (Bertrand Serlet). Now, there is no Senior Vice President for Software Engineering. It's all in this article. The guy exaggerates about OS X's imminent demise, but he makes some interesting points. It really doesn't look like Apple is interested in general purpose computing any more.

I've been using Apple products since 1997, and frankly I'm absolutely appalled at the software coming out of Apple these days. It's not just quality, that too, but repeated utterly bone-headed design decisions like the one this hint corrects. Somehow whoever is calling the shots in OS X development now that Serlet has retired has convinced everyone that methods for computer interaction that have worked for decades in some cases are no longer useful. What are these people thinking?!?
