Dismiss banner notifications with a swipe on OS X

I can't get this to work at all. Hovering over the notification or not two finger swipe simply doesn't do anything at all. Under 'More Gestures' (I assume) what do you guys have two finger swipe set to? TIA

I'm not at my Mac, but if it's like the left-swipe to reveal notifications, it's sort of a special, "wide" swipe: you have to start the motion with your fingers at the far left -- essentially *off* of the trackpad area -- then swipe all the way across to the other side.

Took me a while to get the hang of it, as it's not intuitive.

I'll give that a try. Wasn't clear from the hint, thanks!

I'm not sure, actually, that the swiping motion I described works for the notifications in question. The "wide swipes" do reveal/hide the full "notification center" (or whatever it's called in Mountain Lion), but they don't seem to dismiss the persistent reminder notifications, such as those that Calendar presents on my screen. It seems those can only be dismissed by a click.

Again, I was away from my computer when I replied (via iPad), so I apologize if I misspoke.
