Change the default save location from iCloud to On My Mac
Isn't it a bit of overkill to use Terminal for a System Preference. Just go to System Preferences/iCloud and Turn off Documents and Data. ---

Change the default save location from iCloud to On My Mac
If you do that, then none of your apps will sync data to iCloud. This merely changes the Open/Save dialogs, and you can still put files on iCloud if you want.

Change the default save location from iCloud to On My Mac
Data for apps that use iCloud. For example, I use ToDo to manage tasks, and it syncs using iCloud. ---
