If you Mac seems slow with ML something is up. I found a large speed increase on my 2009 iMac, a new Mac Mini and a Mac Book Pro. ---

Toggle that and it stays at your last selected option, no need to disable iCloud throughout the system. What window is this top-left switch on? Sorry to ask a dumb question, but the only thing I used iCloud Docs for in Lion was iA Writer--and I have a lot of iA Writer docs strewn around for use on my iPad and iPhone--and if I turn Documents and Data off in the iCloud Prefs on Mountain Lion, it says that it will deny me access to everything stored there until I turn it back on; so, presumably my iA Writer docs. Problem is that I have a hundred small tech chunks in iA Writer, and the thought of having to download them individually to my Mac is not what I have a computer for. Also, I do not want my TextEdit docs autosaved to iCloud. [I find the lack of ML choices so intrusive. Why didn't they give a big fat warning? This interferes with workflow; it's irritating. I lost the Activity Window, I enjoyed having a separate search function because I could use it to store something I was going to look at without the page changing. yada-yada.]

Yes, it does remember that option, but it doesn't stop the dialog from opening in the first place. Try this: open something in Preview. Close it. Go to some other program. Click back to Preview. The dialog opens. I don't want that. |
