Easily open web pages in Chrome on iOS
Authored by: JimAkin on Jul 02, '12 09:09:09AM

It could be a quirk of my setup, but when I try to select the code snippet for copying within Chrome for iOS, I can only select the entire paragraph in which it appears. (Tap-selection of words, sentences, etc. works as expected in other paragraphs.)

I found a handy workaround that may have broader usefulness: After creating the bookmarklet in the OS X version of Chrome, I dragged it to the (new?) Mobile Bookmarks folder in the Bookmark Manager, and it became available in Chrome for iOS.

Cheers,

Jim

That worked for me. Does anybody know how to make the same thing happing under OS X to open a Safari page in Chrome by just clicking on a link? I would like to remove Flash from Safari since that is still the biggest pain in the rear.

On Mac OS X:
- Why not simply using the button "Define Chrome as primary browser" in Chrome preferences?
- Why not choosing Chrome in the popup menu in Safari Preferences > General ?
No need for extra software...

What would be the point of pasting this into/having it in the bookmarks for Chrome? The whole idea is to use it in Safari to open pages in Chrome. When in Chrome, you are already in Chrome…
