Easily open web pages in Chrome on iOS

Or just jailbreak and install BrowserChooser.

Seriously, someone needs to start the class action / monopoly lawsuit against Apple over this. This is no different than Windows bundling Explorer.

There are tablets by many vendors; if you had a problem with Apple's bundling of Safari, then buying the iPad was a bad choice.

The issue central to the Microsoft case was whether Microsoft was allowed to bundle Internet Explorer (IE) with Windows. Bundling them together is alleged to have been responsible for Microsoft's victory in the browser wars as every Windows user had a copy of Internet Explorer. It was further alleged that this restricted the market for competing web browsers (such as Netscape Navigator or Opera) that were slow to download over a modem or had to be purchased at a store. The judge, in his ruling, stated that Microsoft's dominance of the personal computer operating systems market constituted a monopoly, and that Microsoft had taken actions to crush threats to that monopoly, including Apple, Java, Netscape, Lotus Notes, Real Networks, Linux, and others.

I hardly think that you could argue that Apple has a monopoly on tablet and smartphone operating systems. Apple is making the competing browsers available for free download at their App Store, I think that's a little different than having to surf the web on a dial-up connection, locate a browser, and spend a great deal of time downloading it. Therefore, this is very different.

Alternative browsers are available, but they're suffer for not being integrated or we wouldn't have seen this hint. Every link you open takes you to Safari, even if you explicitly install a third party alternative. Also, you can't remove Safari. It is anti-competitive.

To roll out the time-honored car analogy, this is like being unable to remove the OEM radio when you buy one that suits your purpose better; and having to tune your aftermarket radio through the controls of the OEM radio.

No, the car analogy would be that every Chevy comes bundled with a Chevy engine. Can you put a Ford engine in? Not easily.

Or... that every iPhone comes bundled with iOS. Can you run Android on it? Can you run iOS on an Android phone? Can you run Safari on an Android?

See how it gets stupid in this case?
