Remove rubber band scrolling in most apps
I actually like the new scrolling behavior -- to me it lends a sense of physicality -- but I can understand that many people may not be impressed. However, I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out how it would become particularly annoying to anyone. Would one of you that hates it so much that you would go to such lengths to figure out how to disable it explain what it is about the behavior that is so annoying to you? I'm sincerely curious, as an interface designer, and want to better understand this reaction. Thanks!

I don't hate rubber band scrolling per se. What I hate is its performance. In several places, namely Mail, iTunes, Mac App Store it's very jerky. _VERY_. Every heavy surface that gets to a point where rubber band scrolling kicks in behaves this way. I own MBP 13" from 2010 which might not be the newest, but still, is not very outdated. NVidia 320M is even a little bit faster then Intel 3000HD that's massively used in current Macs. Edited on May 10, '12 04:12:57PM by Havner

Wow! I can see how that would be annoying.

I don't have any performance issues and it's not my system. I work on Macs on daily basis and every single system I've seen has that. It's just that most people don't mind. Edited on May 10, '12 10:17:57PM by Havner
