iTunes Match recognizes some digital copies of movies
Sorry, and I'm not meaning to argue, but what I said is correct and it's relevant to the hint to correct the misconception that Digital Copies are somehow special files. Yes, the initial code you get is a code to enter through the studio's website. This is done to allow them to track the download, allow you to choose iTunes or Windows Media format, and to expire the code. But then, they either directly give you an iTunes code for you to use yourself, or sometimes auto submit the iTunes code and open iTunes for you. You most certainly do not download Apple DRMed files from a studio's website. I've done this many times over the past few years, where you apparently have never gone through the process. And some Blu Rays that now offer digital copies via Ultraviolet. I've read reports online however, that when folks have called the studio's support line to complain about this, they're often given iTunes codes to download a suitable replacement. And I suspect those will appear in our iTunes Cloud like other purchased videos. |
