I assume that the see command was supposed to have a backslash before the first 1 as well as for the parenthesis, so that it would restore the field name when setting the value, i.e.

sed -e 's/\(BackgroundBlurInactive.*\)0/\11/'

As it is it doesn't do anything because parenthesis aren't treated as a matching group, but instead matched directly. This might be a good thing though. As I agree with the others, that the right approach is to go the Terminal => Preferences… menu and change it there. Having the settings hidden in the "Background color" picker under the Window setting pane just seems a little inelegant to me. Also note that depending on the number of times that you click the color swatch, the extra fields for blur and inactive windows might or might not show up in the color picker.
