Two editing keyboard shortcuts

...and where's the news?
Those shortcuts (and the Color Picker functionalities) are well known from centuries.

Agreed.
Additionally the two shortcuts are easily found in the format menu (in TextEdit for example).

Generally, what has Mac OS X Hints come to?
The quality of the hints has dramatically declined. I hope this is going to change.

Isn't the quality of hints based on the quality of readers' (i.e., our) submissions? I'd wager there isn't a collection of jaw-dropping gems to banish this hint to the back of the list.

Would it be better to say 'Sorry, no worthy hints today'? Though some readers have volunteered to cover on national holidays, just so they can get their daily fix. :)

While the hint is obviously intended for novice users, I think that there are experienced users who may not have realized that they could both invoke and dismiss the color picker and fonts windows with the same keyboard shortcuts. Anyway, I certainly don't think Craig nor Macworld care to promote the assertion that there's nothing for novice users at Mac OS X Hints. If they did, I agree that this hint probably wouldn't have appeared.
