iOS 5: Cable Releases for Photography

Great tip!.

It also works with Camera+, a third-party photo app that's added a volume-button shutter. And if someone is looking for a cable release that is shorter, cheaper, and simpler to manage than Apple's earphones, it also works with my iLuv remote adapter, which provides Apple-like controls for non-Apple earphones. For use as a shutter, you don't even need to have an earphone attached.

Just keep in mind that the iLuv remote doesn't tolerate much abuse. I quit using mine after it began behaving erratically. Used just as a camera remote, however, it should last longer and Amazon is selling them for about $6. Others also make remotes in the same price range that may be better built.
