10.4: Run Automator workflows at the command line

In OS X 10.7 Lion, perhaps before, you can run something like
ls | automator -i - test.app
Which will send a directory listing to the Automator workflow called test.app.
open test.app --args 2
Will send the value of 2 to Automator. Multiple arguments are more tricky. See here for a solution.
