A possible fix for the iPhone 4s battery issue
Authored by: pheed on Nov 03, '11 09:29:50AM

I have had this feature turned off almost since the beginning. I travel quite a bit for work and shortly after I bought my phone, I took it with me. When I turned Airplane Mode on, I noticed that the Location Services arrow appeared - which I thought was odd since no wireless services should have been running. I found that the Location Services arrow was being triggered by this Setting Time Zone feature. This seems somewhat redundant considering the "Set Time automatically" feature. So I turned the Time Zone feature off.

Additionally, I turned off the Local Weather feature on the flip side of the Weather app. Most of the time I'm in my home city. I should only need to turn that feature on when travelling.

After turning those features off, I noticed that my battery life was very respectable. It's not unusual for my battery to last nearly 48 hours on a full charge, with light use. I had been perplexed by all the complaints of poor battery performance on the 4S. Now I know why!
