Steve Jobs brought quality into all our lives. He made design and human centered interfaces a necessity for a product instead of an afterthought. Then, once he made it work well, he put it into a beautiful package, no matter where you saw it from.

I remember my first experience with the Mac, it was 1984 and I was 11 years old. My parents accidentally left me at a computer store that I walked over to to see the new Macintosh computer that had just been released. Two hours later when they came to get me they were amazed at what I had been able to make with MacPaint in that time. My Dad bought the Mac on the spot.

Twenty three years later in 2007 my brothers and I watched Steve Jobs unveil the iPhone at the MacWorld expo. We were amazed at the insanely great device that we were witnessing. It completely blew us away and we hadn't even used it yet. His passion and desire to get these things into peoples hands was infectious.

When my business partner and I created our company, The Rocket Science Group and later our product MailChimp.com, We always tried to merge technology and design and to make our products simple to use. This desire was because of our experience on the Macintosh and Steve Jobs philosophy on ease of use. Steve Jobs was able to make rocket science easy to use and that's what we tried to do as well.

He's changed our world in more ways than any of us can ever imagine and the world will miss what changes he won't make since he was taken from us way too soon.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, his Apple family, and the world.

Rest in Peace Steve
