quick access to the Desktop with hot corners

It works, just not directly. You have to switch to a non-fullscreen desktop first (or "during" depending on your point of view).
Two methods (while dragging a file/object/whatever):
1. Enter Mission Control (by any means: hot corner, hover over the icon in the dock, a dedicated mouse button, a keyboard shortcut). Hover over another app or desktop (non-fullscreen). Then, go to your Desktop hot corner. This is also a nice way to drop a file directly into another app.
2. Cmd-Tab to a non-fullscreen app. Then, go to your Desktop hot corner.
3. Ctrl-Arrow Left/Arrow Right to switch to a non-fullscreen desktop. Etc.

Hot corners combined with mission control is the single biggest annoyance I have when I have to use a PC. I'm always throwing my mouse into corners and swearing when nothing happens.
