Login doesn't respect caps lock
Authored by: erikzred on Oct 08, '02 11:41:32AM

The login for Mac OS X doesn't respect the caps lock key. I remember reading about this in an article comparing Mac OS X and XP. The theory behind this is that since the password is being typed in "blind" that not respecting the caps lock key requires the shift key for any upper case characters. This way it doesn't matter if you have the caps lock on or not. I would like to see this behavior duplicated system wide in OS X where any password field that doesn't give visual feedback simply not respect the caps lock so you don't get those frustrating "DUH" moments after typing in the password several times.

Login doesn't respect caps lock (panther update)

I just tried this using panther.
The Caps Lock key IS respected by the login screen BUT the little reminder appears whenever you start typing in a password field with caps turned on.

This also applies to password fields in web pages and other applications!

Nice one apple!
