10.7: Install Lion on an unsupported Mac with an upgraded processor
Authored by: Crazor on Aug 05, '11 11:02:30AM

The OSx86 scene has found a way to boot and install Lion on any 64bit Mac (or most PCs, that's what interests them). They remove the SupportedPlatforms.plist from the installer's .dmg and also patch the OSInstall.mpkg to remove another check. This could be of help for the hint author's case.

Only thing to watch out for is to not reboot the Mac at the end of the installation, open a terminal window and remove the SupportedPlatforms.plist from the fresh installation, too.
