10.7: Get to your Library folder
[crarko adds: OK, Apple that's kind of crazy. Holding down the Option key with the Go menu selected causes 'Library' to appear in the list. Releasing it causes it to vanish. The Library folder is the only item that has this behavior.Actually, this is how all optional menu items work. Click on File, Edit, View, or Window and press and release the option key to see a number of optional versions of commands. Works that way throughout the system. With Menu Items (like the AirPort menu) you have to hold down option before you click the menu. Just seems weird because it's a folder, and since the default behavior is "not there" the item vanishes instead of changing to a different command. It's a pretty consistent application of the normal menu system behavior, and it's far better than the other option of just hiding it with no way to access it from the GUI. When I read that Macworld article, I just kept saying to myself, "But why make it so complicated?" |
