10.7: Different Desktop Picture on Each Space

Right-click on System Preference in the Dock and select Options -> Assign To -> All Desktops. Right-click on desktop and select "Change Desktop Background..." Swipe to each space and the app will follow you. (Though it will appear below windows from other active apps. If so, just click the dock icon.)

I have my settings set to change desktop pics every 30 minutes. (<http://macdesktops.com> has a great selection of desktop pics at a variety of high resolutions, including those for wide screen Macs) I found that you can set each desktop setting individually, including the options for "Change picture", frequency, and "Random order", but NOT "Translucent menu bar".

And no, you can not set the desktop picture for a full screen app because a full screen app has no desktop.
