10.7: Cleaning up the Launchpad
Authored by: timrand on Jul 27, '11 08:45:51AM

For a long time now, I have created an Applications folder in my personal home (that is ~/Applications). This is where I put ALL my personally installed apps. I can't remember ever having issues with this. I then create the Dock links (right-side) for both my System Applications folder and my personal folder. Not yet on 10.7, but this should still work just fine.

Then when I install apps from the App Store, I just find them in my system folder and drag them over to my personal Applications folder. The App Store updates them just fine in the new location.
