Note, that any apps purchased through the App Store you can remove just like you can on iOS.

Which is fine, unless what you're looking to do is clean up LaunchPad to show a select set of applications, yet not delete any apps excluded from LP.

LP is a find idea, but entirely under-baked, i.e., nearly raw in terms of usefulness at this stage.

Hopefully it will gain easier management (I don't have hours to spend arranging seven screens of apps I didn't want there in the first place); and gain alpha-navigation (once I see the app I want, I should be able to type its name's starting letters).

It could be a useful tool for when your can't recall the name of the app you want in order to use Spotlight (Alfred, QuickSilver, Launchbar, et al).
