10.7: Select Spaces in Mission Control

That's a good hint, but what I've been looking for is how to set up a keyboard shortcut to switch between spaces directly without having to go through mission control (like in the "old" spaces).

Check out System Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts > Mission Control. By default, I had ctrl-left arrow and ctrl-right arrow which let you scroll from left to right through your mission control spaces... but it also has options available for jumping to specifically numbered spaces if you prefer. You just have to create the desktops in mission control before it'll let you create the keyboard shortcut for it.

control - left or right
should work with out being in mission control.

same with
control - number of space desired (e.g. control - 2)
