10.7: Hide Reading List in Safari's bookmarks bar
Authored by: Frederico on Jul 25, '11 01:09:06PM

The nice thing about exposing this option (even if doing it via command line isn't strictly necessary) is that by moving Reading List to the Toolbar, and removing it from the Bookmarks Bar, is that cute-but-quickly-annoying-vidual-effect of the 'Add To Reading List' icon jumping into the Reading List icon is gone.

This was *exceptionally* annoying if you hide your Bookmarks Bar, as the animation would cause the Bookmarks Bar to slide into view long enough to except the skydiving page icon, then that would also force-shift your Safari window location if you had it aligned with the bottom of the screen with space at the top. Were it not for this added annoyance, I would have suffered the cutsie jump.

It had never occurred to me to check for new Toolbar options, so, many, many thanks to the author of this hint.
